From Rachel Wishart and Me!
We are delighted to announce our marriage!
Bishop Bob Gillies will preside at our ceremony on Saturday 29th September 2012 at 6pm in St Magnus’ Church, Lerwick.
We would be pleased if you could remember us and our families, in your thoughts and prayers at this time.
Should you be able to come on the day we would be delighted if you could join us for the ceremony and for canapés and drinks afterwards.
We are not asking for presents but any donations would go to the refurbishment and decoration of St Magnus’ Rectory
As I continue to settle in Shetland, a place I have loved since 1971, I have been keen to record some of the thoughts and activities of this major migration. It is amazing how the journey unfolds, ups and downs but well worth it. It is wonderful to be here. I would like to pay tribute to Stuart Haves who introduced me to these Islands in 1971. Mr Haves died aged 68 in April 2012

Someone got that wrong!!
Contrary to what I was told we did not have such a good weekend from the weather point of view. It has rained a lot and been quite overcast.
On the up side people are smiling and the church services went well.
The time at Burravoe Yell was good even though I forgot to take my clothes with me! I felt like the proverbial emperor!
We gave thanks to Barbara Garrick who died recently. Barbara was a ling time member of the congregation and died peacefully last Monday. May she rest in Peace.
